Homer Dome, Comic-Con San Diego 2014
Concept Design by Van Wagner
Design, Engineering, and Construction by Eric J Winston and SFDS in Brooklyn, NY
For Comic-Con San Diego 2014, SFDS built a 40' tall Homer Simpson head. Within the Homer Dome was a projection of hundreds of episodes, 14' tall vinyl appliques of the characters in The Simpsons, and a pea-sized brain (relative to the size of Homer's head) in the center of the space that lit up when Homer started to have a mental breakdown.
Marianna worked as fabricator and Project Manager, alongside Fred Potter, managing a team of 30 fabricators in the engineering, construction, finishing, and installation of the Homer Dome.
