2016 MFA Products of Design graduates, Eden Lew, Natsuki Hayashi, and I created the cmmttee: an experience design team dedicated to create eccentric and idiosyncratic events in celebration of individuals and groups. We were thrilled and honored to be chosen by Allan Chochinov, chair of the MFA Products of Design program, to design and host the 5 year anniversary of the program. We designed every inch of the department to highlight the overwhelming amount of work created by the students and facilitated by a remarkable group of professors. We printed and hung over 500 student projects as decorative flags, compiled a video of students who were abroad and couldn’t attend, commissioned a custom photo wall by fellow alumni Adam Fujita for a photo booth, designed a speculative futuring workshop, made many toasts, and danced!
